This is a design for renovation/increasing the capacity of bedroom units in a boarding house ordered by our client, Mr. Catur. located in Tirtoutomo, Malang city. The location is close to the Muhammadiyah University of Malang, making housing for students highly sought in this area. This is what makes Mr. Catur plan to upgrade his boarding house so he can get more income from renting bedroom units.

The existing building only has 2 floors, then additions were made to the 3rd floor and the rooftop. On the 3rd floor of this building, a bedroom is designed to be integrated with the bathroom so that we can add up to 7 bedrooms. On this floor, a kitchen is also added as a cooking facility for students.

The facade carries a tropical minimalist concept, continuing the facade on the lower floor. The andesite stone ornaments are then juxtaposed with the dark granite material so that it looks balanced. The roof has a sloping roof to adapt to tropical environments.
